Welcoming New GeoEx Owner & CEO Brady Binstadt

As we begin to emerge from the tunnel of 2020 toward brighter days ahead, we are thrilled to announce that the ownership of Geographic Expeditions has been joyfully passed on to a beloved travel industry leader with a long history at GeoEx, Brady Binstadt. Brady brings more than two decades of experience in the travel world, including eighteen years at GeoEx, to his new role with the company. In addition to assuming ownership of the company, Brady will also immediately rejoin GeoEx’s day-to-day operations as Chief Executive Officer.

Many of you may already know Brady. He joined GeoEx as a member of the frontline team in May 1999. Over the next two decades, he moved into the Americas sales team, which he eventually led for seven years, then joined our management team, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Guest Services. Brady left GeoEx in 2018 to join a Mexico-based travel company as Chief Revenue Officer.

About his return to GeoEx, Brady said, “My love for GeoEx runs deep and dates back more than 20 years, when I started answering phones at the company. My new role as CEO is nothing short of a dream come true. GeoEx’s mission to share and preserve the diverse wonders of our planet is more important now than ever, and I am excited to pour my passion into advancing our proud tradition of curating trips that nurture cross-cultural understanding, forge profound human connections, and blaze new trails into little-explored destinations. As we navigate these challenging times, I am honored to be leading the company, and confident that we will be taking more and more of our treasured guests to the far-flung corners of the world with each passing month.”

As we welcome Brady back, we are inexpressibly grateful to the company’s former owners, Ned, Jennifer, and Stephen Doubleday. After their much-loved father, longtime GeoEx owner and chairman George Doubleday II, passed away in September 2019, the three Doubleday children passionately took up their father’s mantle. Over the most challenging year in the company’s history, they remained steadfast to their father’s vision, infusing GeoEx with the same compassion, idealism, and commitment that he had made part of the company’s DNA.

In handing over the reins of the company to Brady, outgoing Chairman of the Board Stephen Doubleday said, “We are pleased to our core to be able to entrust this cherished company and team to the extraordinarily capable care of Brady Binstadt. We know that Brady brings a deep knowledge of and passion for GeoEx, combined with the same vision, acumen, integrity, and humility that characterized our father. We are sure that Dad is as thrilled as we are, and that he is welcoming Brady back with one of his legendary hugs.”

All of us at GeoEx are excited to share this news with you, our treasured friends and fellow travelers.

Please join us in celebrating Brady’s return. As we toast a bright new adventure with Brady here, we look forward to creating ever brighter adventures with you everywhere!
