Reflections on Travel in Challenging Times

By Don George | March 5, 2020

GeoEx has been sending travelers around the world for 38 years. In that time, we have witnessed tumultuous events, from political upheavals to natural disasters to medical outbreaks such as the current COVID-19 epidemic. In each of these cases, we have done as a company what we have always counseled our travelers to do as individuals: stay calm, monitor events rigorously and educate ourselves as completely as possible, communicate, and make decisions that honor both the facts and the emotions of the situation.

Today, as ever, GeoEx travelers encompass an extraordinary diversity: For some, the current coronavirus outbreak is a minor inconvenience; for others, it is a major concern.

For our part, we are working with our global network of partners and experts to keep on top of all developments that affect the places we travel and the ways we travel there. As we follow this latest challenge, our passion for the planet and its diverse wonders has not diminished a drop, and our wanderlust is as fulsome as ever. We know that the fundamental importance of what we do remains as it was at our founding: We create trips that bring people together, broaden souls and minds, and transform lives.

We also know how important your travels are to you, and we are here to help you in any way we can.

We’re in this together, as a company that cares deeply about our travelers, and as travelers who care deeply about our planet and its varied peoples.

We are committed to helping you make decisions that are wise, and to keeping our shared wanderlust alive.
