GeoEx’s New Trip to Algeria Sells Out in Two Days!

Pent-up demand for travel and a fascinating, off-the-beaten-path destination prove an irresistible combo for passionate travelers

June 11, 2020

At a time when international travel has almost ground to a halt, it might seem counterintuitive to launch a trailblazing trip to a little-known destination. But that’s exactly what Geographic Expeditions (GeoEx) did earlier this month when they announced their new trip to Algeria, with departures in October 2020, March 2021, and September 2021.

“Launching our new Algeria program now might seem like an unusual choice,” says CEO Jean-Paul Tennant, “but we ultimately felt the timing was right. We see this as a quintessential GeoEx journey—an adventurous itinerary to a fascinating, off-the-beaten-path destination. This trip combines spectacular historical sites and landscapes with insider cultural experiences, and is led by an outstanding trip leader. We hoped this would resonate with adventurous travelers.”

And it resoundingly did. Both 2021 trips sold out within two days of the announcement! And four people signed up immediately for the October 2020 departure.

Because of the Algeria trip’s immediate success, GeoEx has added two more journeys for 2021, in February/March and October/November.

The company will also be announcing other off-the-beaten-path adventures in the months to come, including journeys to Myanmar, Angola, Bolivia, Eritrea, and a once-in-a-lifetime exploration of the Congo with renowned leaders Kingsley Holgate and Brad Hansen.
