Cuba conjures up visions of beauty, music, and intrigue. GeoEx’s journey brings you the best of this long off-limits destination, introducing you to Cubans as they look to the future and consider the changes already unfolding. This Cuba journey is ambitious — we think that it’s more than worthwhile to seek out the heart of this vibrant country. Our long experience there and team of top-notch trip leaders allow us do just that.

In Havana we experience the old and the new, dialoguing with highly respected architects, historians, academics, and curators, and learning about Cuban-American relations. We interact with musicians, businesspeople, students, and artists at studios, museums, restaurants, and schools, gaining insight into the progression of Cuban art and politics through the country’s history. For a broader perspective, we venture into the beautiful, multiethnic Viñales Valley, a World Heritage Site. We behold its dramatic limestone outcroppings known as mogotes, experience life on a family tobacco farm, and see a community project for children. Throughout our explorations in Cuba, we get a taste of entrepreneurship at its delicious best in paladares, where we sample traditional Cuban dishes in the homes of welcoming locals.

"Each guide, scholar, diplomat, reporter, performing artist, farmer, and agronomist was knowledgeable, able to impart information and answer questions, and give us both a feel for and knowledge about Cuba. I think I deserve a PhD. I haven't stopped talking about the trip, and all I learned and saw and experienced." – Judith S.(hear more from Cuba travelers)
