Hidden Japan

Explore Japan on an All-Women Tour
This women’s small group journey moves from the cultural richness of Kyoto to the lesser-known island of Shikoku, weaving together essential landmarks with thoughtfully chosen detours known to our expert female guides. Traveling in a group of no more than eight, you reach places that remain out of view for larger groups—an overnight in a 300-year-old farmhouse, an afternoon shaping soba noodles in a local kitchen. These are the spaces where Japan’s female artisans shine, and where its hidden layers reveal themselves.

Amy's love for Japan began when, right after graduation from the University of Toronto, she moved to Kanazawa, where she lived for two years, teaching English to junior high school students and studying taiko, judo, tea ceremony, and Japanese language. A beloved tour leader with a boundless enthusiasm for Japanese culture, language, and food, Amy’s passion is to connect travelers with the heart and soul of Japan.
Our leader Amy was an excellent and joyful addition to the tour. She gave me Japanese lessons and we had a wonderful time learning from her. I would travel with her anytime.
