Tanzania is home to one of the most remarkable concentrations of wildlife on the planet, a place where thousands of zebras, hyenas, and lions reside at the bottom of a 2,000-foot-deep caldera and more than a million wildebeest set out on a thunderous annual migration across the Serengeti's wide open plains. Animals—while always unpredictable—do have their patterns, so we at GeoEx have specially designed two distinct itineraries, each lead by one of our incredibly experienced safari guides, to maximize your wildlife-viewing opportunities and introduce you to the ways of the Maasai, no matter what time of year you visit.

Our green season Group Trip departure focuses on the Serengeti, an almost mythical national park that is bursting with the beginnings of a massive wildebeest movement—though with luck we may spot them beforehand giving birth to and nursing their young. We'll also pay visit to Ngorongoro Crater National Park and Lake Manyara, with its unusual tree-climbing lions and thousands of thirsty flamingos.

Our dry season itinerary expands to include Tarangire National Park. Here, the area's only permanent water source is found, a river drawing hordes of elephants, as well as buffalo, impala, eland, and a bevy of hungry predators. With the right Serengeti timing, we might catch the migrating wildebeest attempt their Mara River crossing. The croc and hippo-infested waters making for a riveting show.
