Patagonia's wonderfully theatrical landscapes demand (and deserve) attention, but how does a traveler begin to discover such a vast region? GeoEx's explorations in Patagonia go back more than 25 years, and our passionate experts are ready to guide you through all the options—from accommodations and wilderness areas to insider experiences—to create the journey that is just right for you. The sample itinerary described here, which delights in Patagonia's granite monoliths, shockingly blue lakes, fabulous cuisine, and superb lodgings, is just a starting point.

After landing in Santiago, Chile, and exploring the city or the nearby wine region, you'll fly to Torres del Paine National Park for a couple days of jaw-dropping hiking and communing with its symphonic peaks. Then cross the border into Argentina, where you'll overnight at the understatedly luxurious Eolo Lodge, soak in the beauty of the Patagonian steppe, and spend a day at the mammoth Perito Moreno Glacier, watching it slowly calve into Lago Argentino.

Next it's off to remote Lago del Desierto and Aguas Arriba, a cozy lakeside lodge only accessible by boat or foot. Here you can walk sensational trails, visit a glacier, or just relax in front of the roaring fire gazing out over the water at snowcapped peaks. After hiking down to the climbing town of El Chaltén, home to staggering Mount Fitz Roy, you can wrap up your journey with time in cosmopolitan Buenos Aires.
