Our clients are often amazed to learn that well over 50 percent of what we do consists of privately arranged trips, location services for the media, and a wide range of tourism consulting.

We didn't get here by accident. Since our founding in 1981, we have repeatedly trumped the industry, getting our clients into previously unreachable areas: We were the first American company to negotiate protocols with the Chinese government to operate expeditions in Tibet and Xinjiang Province. We were first across the remote Turugart Pass, crossing from the former Soviet Union into China. We pioneered tourism in Tannu Tuva and Iran, and reacquainted the world with Patagonia's Estancia Cristina. We were the first American company to cross the Patagonian Ice Cap, and the first to traverse South Georgia Island. We were the first to trek in northern Vietnam, to the historic mystery of the Great Bend of the Tsangpo, and to Tibet's holy divination lake Lhamo Lhatso. Our clients have also made rare first ascents in the Bhutan Himalaya. Not a year goes by that we don't push the travel envelope a little further.
