Condé Nast Traveler Selects Three GeoEx Travel Specialists

By Don George | November 22, 2016

Condé Nast Traveler has just announced that it has selected three GeoEx staffers—Kate Doty, Vassi Koutsaftis, and Brent Olson—for inclusion on its list of Top Travel Specialists for 2016. GeoEx is one of only two companies to have three experts chosen.

Kate Doty: Travel Specialist for Private Jet Trips

About Kate, Condé Nast writes: “Doty’s name is a secret passed around the private-jet crowd, and whom we can imagine working equally well in the Secretary of State’s office. Her clients demand private access to popular sights and exclusive use of the most luxurious properties worldwide—all of which Doty delights in arranging. A master at complicated logistics, she executes her trips with military precision—getting clearance on short notice for a jet to fly to four different countries in the span of nine days, for instance. Note that she arranges trips only to destinations GeoEx handles: primarily adventure destinations in Africa, Asia, and the Americas.”

Vassi Koutsaftis: Travel Specialist for Tibet

Describing Vassi as “a veteran trekker and passionate photographer who has led trips to Tibet since 1986,” Condé Nast says, “Koutsaftis arranges iconically Tibetan itineraries, replete with ancient temples and soaring peaks, that will fill you with wonder while supplying a modicum of luxury. And whether you’re trekking the Kangshung face of Everest or touring the monasteries of the Tibetan Plateau, his guides will leave you inspired and exhilarated.”

Brent Olson: Travel Specialist for Bhutan

“Olson has been to Bhutan 45 times in the past 26 years and oversees trips there for 600 travelers annually,” Condé Nast writes about Brent. He “knows a broad cross section of Bhutanese, from villagers to high-ranking government officials to members of the royal family. He gets his clients into places that remain unknown to most tourists—certain temples and monasteries and, in special cases, private festivals or prayer ceremonies.”

About these selections, GeoEx CEO Jean-Paul Tennant said, “We are proud and honored that three of our people are included in Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious and highly competitive list. Our value at GeoEx stems from our employees’ deep knowledge, in-country connections, and orientation towards providing the highest levels of service to our guests. Kate, Vassi, and Brent are excellent examples!”
