Joining Angels in Their Flight

Victoria Falls, as you probably know, is one of the planet’s most thunderously great cataracts. (It’s one of the planet’s most thunderously great anythings, actually.) This handy three-day trip, a wonderful add-on to any of our southern African safaris or trips, takes us to Livingstone, Zambia, and cool, comfortable, tented Toka Leya Camp, a few minutes’ drive upriver from Mosi-oa-Tunya, the “Smoke That Roars.” That smoky mist often gives us the impression of flying over the Falls, joining in our electrified imaginations the “angels in their flight” David Livingstone saw dancing airily “over sights as beautiful as this.”
