This eventful and beauteous cultural
foray into Turkey and its neighboring
Greek Isles begins in Istanbul, one of the
worlds most engaging cities, with a cruise
on the Bosphorus and a visit to, among
much else, the ex-cathedral, ex-mosque,
and current museum, the immense Hagia
Sophia. Then we drive to Bodrum, where
we board our superb gulet for seven nights
aboard ship, sailing among the incomparable
Greek and Turkish islands of the
Aegean: Kos, Tilos, and Simi, swimming,
snorkeling, dining on deck, visiting Roman
and Greek ruins and ancient castles at sunset,
sitting at little portside cafιs awash
with serenity.
Days 1 & 2: USA to Istanbul Days 3 & 4: Istanbul
sightseeing and Bosphorus cruise Day 5: fly to
Bodrum, board gulet Day 6: voyage to Dodecanese
Greek isles and Kos Day 7: to Nisyros, Tilos Day 8: Simi, Pamormitis Monastery Day 9: navigate cove-to-cove
en route to Datca, Turkey Day 10: Gokova Bay
Day 11: cove hopping seven islands, Tuzla, Longoz
Day 12: disembark, visit Euromos and Priene
Day 13: visit Ephesus, fly to Istanbul Day 14: return
to USA.
