Not long ago The Economist described Mongolia as “The Last Best Place,” praising the “gusto of its embrace of liberal democracy,” not to mention its resurgent Buddhist and nomadic culture and its heart-grabbing beauty. We are firm partisans of Mongolia, and in partnership with our world-class Mongolian associates, we arrange a variety of excellently supported private trips: dinosaur hunting in the Gobi Desert, horsebacking and camping sojourns in the green highlands of the Altai Mountains, visits to the glorious Naadam festivals in Ulaanbaatar and remote towns, and enlightening investigations of Mongolia’s Buddhist temples and the resonant traces of the days when Mongolia was the most important place in the world.
