A country that tends to make partisans of its visitors, Mexico is broad and beautiful; an exploration of its many layers fills the senses with staggeringly chromatic textures.
We focus on two areas that crystallize Mexico’s charms: the deep, eventful gorges of Copper Canyon and the scenic cultural jewel that is Oaxaca. The canyon’s depths rival those of the Grand Canyon, with the added allure of lush forests and tropical jungles. Two UNESCO World Heritage sites in the southern state of Oaxaca embody what attracts us to Mexico. The city of Oaxaca, poised amid rugged highlands and peopled by Zapotecs and Mixtecs, who continue ancient agricultural and ritual cycles, softens the heart. And the ceremonial pyramids the Zapotec, built in their ancient capital at Monte Albán, once one of the largest cities in the Americas, quicken the soul.
