African elephants at play in Kenya
Our private safaris in Kenya access areas well off the beaten track, as a matter of course. We use small, exquisite lodges and private luxury tented camps equipped with all the trimmings, including proper beds, hot showers, and fresh and beautifully prepared food.

In the game-rich Chyulu Hills of the south, we stay in one of the continent’s—the world’s!—finest and most secluded lodges, enjoying a rare chance to truly visit with—as opposed to gawk at—the local Maasai people, to hike in grandly lonely green hills, and to gaze endlessly at Kilimanjaro, a colossus that transcends the pictures we’ve seen over the years. Near Mount Kenya, we take walking safaris in search of leopard and elephant in the company of Samburu and Maasai guides, and, for a change of topographic pace, we fly across the Rift Valley to Lake Victoria for a different flavor of safari life by the shores of the great inland sea. And we also find ways to experience the mind-boggling natural bounty of the Masai Mara preserve in leisure and in privacy.
