Brent has been intimately involved with
Bhutan since his first journey there in
1986. He’s not only created what we modestly
think of as the world’s best travel program
to the kingdom, he’s rolled up his shirtsleeves
to champion many fine social projects there.
On this Giving Back trip, Brent will wend
his travelers around the country in typical
in-depth style and focus on two of his closest-to-
heart projects: the renovation of Bhutan’s
oldest and most significant private monastic
complex, the Phobjikha Valley’s Gangteng
Gompa, and the Pema Choling Nunnery in
glorious Bumthang.
We’ll be personal guests of His Holiness, Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche, at a grand consecration event at Gangteng, and witness masked dances and a variety of religious ceremonies marking the return of sacred relics to the newly renovated temple. And at Pema Choling, we’ll be introduced to one of Himalayan Buddhism’s only dharma study centers for women. “The women’s pursuit of education and spiritual practice at Pema Choling will be of immense benefit in providing qualified female teachers in the Buddhist tradition,” Brent says, “and we are privileged to help make their dreams a reality.” Call us for more details on this superb chance to visit Bhutan with a guy who loves and knows it dearly and well.
