Our history operating trips in Bhutan spans three decades, allowing GeoEx to open doors other companies cannot.

We sent our first group to the kingdom a quarter century ago and ever since we've been working with Bhutanese friends and partners to craft memorable, engaging itineraries. We've been leading trips to Bhutan since before there was a market for travel to Bhutan— all because we've long recognized it as a compelling, not-to-be-missed destination.
Our Leaders
Throughout our years in the kingdom, our constant guiding spirit has been Brent Olson. Since 1983, when Brent lived and worked in Bhutan, he's returned more than 40 times (and counting). During that time, Brent has forged close friendships with Bhutanese people from all walks of life—from villagers in the countryside to high lamas and members of the royal family. Brent's expertise on the once little-known country has earned him distinction that has helped to shape GeoEx's extensive portfolio of Bhutan itineraries.

Our Team
Our Bhutanese operations staff has been with us since the beginning and many of our guides were among the country's first. Our stateside staffers have long been regular visitors to the Dragon Kingdom and are always ready to answer your questions. We've learned a lot from one another, commuting back and forth to host guide training, to discover more about each other's cultures, to polish our trip offerings, and to ensure that GeoEx guests are well taken care of in the field. You'll be delighted to meet with Thimphu's movers and shakers, with craftspeople and yak herders in the country's farthest corners, and with just about everybody in between.
