About Us

A pioneer of travel to remote and challenging destinations since 1982, Geographic Expeditions (now GeoEx—see below) offers a varied portfolio of overland tours, treks, walks, and expeditionary voyages to the world's most astonishing places. GeoEx was the first American company to negotiate protocols with the Chinese government to operate tours to backcountry Tibet and far western China. Our roster of innovative journeys soon expanded—to Nepal, India, Bhutan, the Arctic, the Middle East, and ever onward—today we send travelers to all seven continents.

Our passion for eyes-open travel to out-of-the-way places is reflected in our expert leadership, excellent accommodations, intimate group size, and deep in-country savvy. GeoEx offers Custom Trips for groups, families, and couples, as well as scheduled group departures to more than 150 unique destinations across the globe.

It's Official: "Geographic Expeditions" becomes "GeoEx"

We've been called "GeoEx" for so long, we thought we'd make it official. That's why our new website comes with a new take on our logo. Other than cutting back on syllables in our name, nothing else has changed. We're still the same group of adventure travel lovers who can't wait to plan your next journey to the ends of the earth. If you're curious to learn more about our roots, take a look at our history.
